Back in 1986, three Jewish white boys from Manhattan Island and its surrounding boroughs would turn the hip-hop world—and the entire music industry, for that matter—right on their respective heads. Beastie Boys was born out of the Young Aborigines a hardcore punk band in 1978. Licensed To Ill was the first ever rap LP to top the Billboard album charts, and also one of Columbia Records fastest selling debut releases.
