Big Mama Thorton Print

Artist James Terman created a series of 27 blues portraits, four of those portraits are available as archival prints.

“Willie Mae ‘Big Mama’ Thornton is in my opinion the greatest female blues singer of this and any other decade,” renowned producer Chris Strachwitz proclaimed in the liner notes to the 1965 Arhoolie album Big Mama Thornton In Europe. Thornton, a big, brawny belter who sometimes played drums or harmonica and sang in a husky, masculine-sounding voice, was unique among blues queens.

Printed by Land Gallery in Portland, Oregon using an 11-color high definition ink process on an enhanced matte archival paper.

Ships flat in a cellophane sleeve with a hard backing.
